Welcome to Ministry of Joy! A Worship Arts Ministry Blog

Updated: Feb 3, 2024

Welcome to the Ministry of Joy Blog! I’m so glad you’re here.

Ministry of Joy is my passion project to finally bring my desire to serve God and people through writing and worship music. This blog’s purpose is to be a resource for others passionate about worship arts, whether that’s in the pew on Sunday morning, the pianist, a choir member, a worship pastor, or anything else in between. My prayer is that this blog can be a place of conversation and encouragement. In our world of constant change, it can be hard as Christians to be in the world but not of it. Worship is changing, it is constantly changing, and sometimes it can leave us feeling dizzy, unsure of the best next move.

I have spent a significant portion of my life dedicated to music, I have studied, trained, and eventually taught music. I still do, and quite enjoy it. After college I felt a bit pathless. I felt God nudging me to pursue music, I just wasn’t sure how. I ventured down a few avenues, but for a while nothing clicked. Eventually though, when I was ready and in a willing position and open mindset, I felt God lay ministry on my heart. It came suddenly but clearly.

For now, I will state, I am not currently a pastor. I am a worship leader and am currently in a worship arts leadership role. Maybe someday I’ll have the official title of “pastor” but I want you to know, this is not just a place for worship pastors. It’s for any and all types of worship arts participants. All roles are valuable, and no matter where you are in your journey just know, you don’t need to be a pastor to be a leader, you don’t need a masters degree to be passionate for music ministry. Wherever you are, never stop striving to build your faith and strengthen your walk with God.

This being my first post, I want to take a moment to introduce you to the upcoming content you can expect to see from Ministry of Joy. Check back weekly for a new article! And let me know what you want to see!

Modern Christianity Topics. I'll take on the challenges of the modern worship experience. Learning and sharing answers to the questions we all have. I want to help you with ideas for enhancing musical worship for yourself as well as your church. Ask me your questions! Join in on the discussions! I want to learn as much as I want to serve this community of passionate worshipers.

News & Reviews: Announcements for upcoming events or albums drops. I love finding new music. I am always keeping an ear on my favorite artists to know when they release something new. I also regularly look through other worship playlists. It's an amazing way to find new artists and worship genres that you may not have thought of. Diversity is becoming key in modern worship trends, people want to know you care about their musical interests, while still simply proclaiming Jesus over them. Check back often, I’ll also be adding reviews of new content, themes and styles, as well as ways to utilize them in your own worship services.

My goal is to take the suggestions and ideas of others as well as new music to provide up to date playlists for any theme you might need. And if I don’t have one for what you’re looking for, let me know! I will absolutely try my best to create as diverse as I can choices of playlists.
